On Saturday, September 3, 2022, Gregory Anthony Osborne, affectionately known as "Tony," departed this life and was called home to Glory by our Heavenly Father.
Tony was born to the late Minister Larry Jerome Osborne, Sr. and Saundra Bernice Osborne on March 12, 1967, in Washington D.C. He was the first of three children.
Tony received his formal education in the D.C. Public School System, graduating from Wilson Senior High School, with high academic honors. He was a very intelligent man. Tony could help with a complex mathematical problem, history or geography question, quickly and effortlessly. After graduation, he joined the United States Army (until he was medically discharged.) At an early age, he developed a lifelong love of video games. He could play for hours and there was not a video machine, in his childhood neighborhood, which did not display Tony's name as top score.
Tony was a loving, caring father and deeply adored by his grandchildren. Tony assiduously devoted time to rebuild the relationships with his children, as he was not present in the early part of their lives. He began to lead by example, maintaining dignity, duty and decency; a combination of qualities hard to find in people today. His desire to make amends was evident in his present relationships with all of his children. To say they love their Dad would be an understatement – and to say they are going to miss him would be an even greater understatement!
Tony was always there for everyone, family neighbors, colleagues or friend, and always showed up with his great sense of humor. Even during the course of his illness, he never complained and his infectious smile prevailed. Tony always said his greatest treasures were his family, and his love for the Dallas Cowboys.
Tony accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior during his late adult years.
His life will forever be cherished and lovingly remembered by his children Laureita McGlothan, Pilar Howerton, Imani Osborne Robinson, and Aaron Davis; one sister, Nichole Heath; one brother, Larry Osborne Jr. (Chaverly); grandchildren, Nehemiah Groomes and Neriah Groomes; one uncle, Robert Osborne; four aunts Grace Carter (Michael), Claudia Fantroy Brown, Anna Howard, Gwendolyn Jeffries and Belinda Tyson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
