Elroy Elton Booth was born on June 26, 1955, to the late Elmer Willard Booth and Lavania Edna Booth. Elroy departed life peacefully on November 2, 2025, after a lengthy illness. Elroy was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. Elroy graduated from Baltimore City College in 1973. After the completion of high school, he worked for Montgomery Ward for many years. Elroy operated a small lawn care business, with his neighbors being primary clients. None of us can forget Elroy's love for music. Elroy's love and infatuation with music included his participation in a few singing groups, including a number of church choirs and male groups. Members of his church called him the "Mic Man" because he always wanted the microphone in his hand, whether he was singing, humming, or harmonizing. Whether it was the emotional songs that could bring about joy or his gifts and talents for singing and his nostalgia for music, Roy's love for music cannot be understated. Elroy was also a member of several clubs, "Poo-Poo Daddy's" and "69 Plus." Music played a definitive role in every stage of Elroy's life. Elroy, affectionately known as "Roy", "Unc" "El" "Uncle El" was the life of the party. Roy was a light in the eyes of all who knew him. His journey on this earth was marked by love, family, friendship, and his unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more who were touched by him. Elroy spent countless hours watching sporting events and listening to games on the radio, as well as listening to radio talk shows. Elroy took a keen interest in crosswordpuzzles and could complete them with precision at a very fast pace. Above all else, Elroy took extreme delight in talking to people and was an avid jokester. He enjoyed discussing world events, economic issues, matters of the heart, and society. Even through Elroy's illness, his genuine humor and lightheartedness did not falter. Roy was a member of First Baptist Church of Cherry Hill, First Baptist Church of Fairfield, and Church of Jesus the Christ Ministries Elroy was preceded in death by his brothers Carlos and Leonard Booth. He is survived by his sister Sharon Booth (Tony); Aunt Jeane Graves; Uncle Herbert Graves; nieces Tonya Davis, Nicole Hodges (Dominic), Serena Stokes (Antoine), Tierra Booth, Ciara Smith; great nephews Duawn Davis, Siyon Booth, Samir Booth; Great Niece Aneres Stokes; and close friends Kenny, Rob, Bruce, Wayne, and a host of other family and friends We rejoice in knowing that Elroy had good faith and a good life.
