Jack Steckman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Parsell Funeral Homes-Atkins-Lodge Chapel - Lewes on Feb. 18, 2026.
Jack Dennis Steckman, age 82, of Lewes, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2026.

Born on April 30, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, Jack was the son of the late Louis and Laura Steckman. He graduated from high school and continued his education with one year of study at Baltimore City College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

On August 3, 1982, Jack married the love of his life, Marie "Bunny" Steckman, at the Baltimore City Courthouse. Together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and shared adventures. Jack was self-employed as a wholesaler for many years, dedicating himself to his business with determination and integrity.

Jack had a deep love for life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed jogging and playing tennis, savoring good food, traveling, and spending time at the flea market-especially when he had a table of his own. Above all, he treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren. He was rarely without a good cigar and was always ready to share a story or a laugh.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marie "Bunny" Steckman; his son, Chad Steckman of Randallstown, Maryland; his daughters, Brett Dabruzzo (Nick) of Frederick, Maryland, and Jaime Bald (Eric) of Perkasie, Pennsylvania; his grandsons, Max Dabruzzo of Frederick, Maryland, and Connor Bald of Perkasie, Pennsylvania; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his sister, Rosalie Wollman, and his brother-in-law, Robert Wollman.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, Delaware. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Route 13, Smyrna, Delaware.

Jack will be remembered for his love of family, his independent spirit, and the warmth and laughter he brought to those around him.
