David Henry Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 8, 2026.
David Edward Henry, a devoted father, lifelong learner, and passionate enthusiast of the arts and athletics, passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 86, following a stroke.

Born on August 4, 1939, in Baltimore City, Maryland, David remained a proud Marylander throughout his life. He was a graduate of Baltimore City College before pursuing higher education at Loyal University Maryland. A believer in the power of education and professional growth, he later earned his MBA through the Loyola Executive MBA Program.

David's professional career was marked by technical expertise and a natural talent for connection. He began his journey as an engineer at Bendix Aviation Corporation before transitioning into a distinguished career in sales with IBM. During his tenure at IBM, David was responsible for the critical work of selling computer systems to governmental entities and hospitals across the state of Maryland, helping to modernize the infrastructure of the institutions that serve his local community.

David had a lifelong passion for music and sports. He loved lacrosse and football (aka soccer) and spent many afternoons watching the premier league matches. He was often found in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes and trying new wines. David liked to listen to music and was a keen bridge player, often enjoying friendly games with friends at the Bykota Senior Center. Later in life, David embraced new challenges, taking up the piano and maintaining an active lifestyle by working out with a trainer.

He is survived by his beloved children, Alecia Renee Henry Farley and David Patrick Henry, and his dear partner Patricia Schultheis.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, January 24, 2026, 11:00 am at St. David's Episcopal Church (in Baltimore, MD), with lunch to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Alley Cat Allies at https://www.alleycat.org/ or St. David's Episcopal Church, 4700 Roland Avenue

Baltimore, MD 21210.
