Gregory Purri Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Patterson Cremation and Funeral Service - Jacksonville on Dec. 28, 2024.
Gregory H. Purri was born in New Brunswick, NJ on July 10, 1957, and died on December 17, 2024, in Ascencion St. Vincents Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Greg, affectionally known as 'Butchie,' has been sick since 2001 and in 2009
his health challenges intensified. Greg loved life and fought tirelessly for years because the last thing he ever wanted to do was leave his family-his girls.
Greg is survived by his wife Carmen Heidy Purri, his daughter, Heather Nicole Purri, sister, Laura Cox (Richard) their children Melissa and Gregory. Gregory's loving brother Joe Purri (Anne Marie) their children, Godchild, Michelle, nephews
Matthew, and Michael.
His brother-in-law Dennis Rodriguez (Yari) their children, Josue, and Matthew. Butchie's other brother-in-law Willhem Rodriguez (Doris) their children, Katherine, and Bryant. Deceased relatives and their surviving kids: Butchies' parents, Eileen and Gregory
Purri, sister-in-law Waleska Rodriguez and her children David, and Heidie, and his brother- in-law Smiley Rodriguez and his children Bessie, Bonnie, and Leonardo.
Greg was an easy-going man, who cared deeply for his family, always had a smile and never complained. He had a special way of making people around him smile and laugh, no matter what the situation was, or how he was feeling. Just seeing him
would give you peace. Greg got his degree at Rutgers University, in New Brunswick, NJ in Engineering Science. Greg enjoyed working at Aetna Insurance (formerly Prudential) and was well-liked by his colleagues.
He met Carmen Heidy in Plainfield, NJ. Their first date was at Friendly's Restaurant in Piscataway. On the second date in Six Flags Greg Adventure, they watched the fireworks and felt the journey of their love begin. They spent 37 1/2 years happily married-a once in a lifetime love.
