Gregory (Greg)Thomas Rausch, a beloved Firefighter, Paramedic and community hero passed away on May16, 2024 at his parent's home surrounded by family. Greg was born on March 20, 1983 to Thomas (Tom) and Donna Rausch. He is survived by a Grandmother, Theresa Rausch, his parents, Tom and Donna Rausch, his Sweetheart, Carolynn McFall and her son Wrangler, his sister Jeni (Jeff)Weilert, nieces Jalynn and Jayleigh and nephew Justin. Greg was preceded in death by Grandparents, Francis Rausch and John and Barbara Becker, Uncles Jim Rausch, Vic Becker, Ed Becker and Aunt Mary Jo Smythe. Greg dedicated his life to serving and protecting others.
Greg was a Firefighter and Paramedic for over 15 years. He served the communities of Lyon and Sedgwick Counties as well as worked for PK Safety. During his time at Lyon County, he was instrumental in establishing the Emporia Honor Guard. He served as a member of the Emporia Honor guard until he was no longer able.
Greg faced his battle with cancer in the same way he approached his service to his community. With Faith, dedication and of course, a bit of humor. Greg was a true hero who selflessly put his life on the line to protect others.
Greg was not only admired for his quick wit, humor and bravery in his service, but he was also adored by his family and would often be found instigating shenanigans with cousins, nieces and nephew and just about anyone else that would join him for a little orneriness. He was cherished for his kindness and compassion. Greg has touched the lives of countless individuals through his dedication to duty, commitment to service and love of family. Greg will be deeply missed by family, friends, colleagues, and the communities that he served.
Greg will be buried with Honors arranged by the Emporia Honor Guard, the Emporia Fire Department and assisted by Sedgwick County Honor Guard and Honor Guards and Fire and EMS departments from neighboring communities.

I want to take this time to thank Greg is his family for there loving support over the years. giving me the opportunity to learn and thrieve in revolving fast paced world we live in. He taught me the ways of fire fighting and how to do the things they do. How to handle certain situations and the strain of the job that he had as a fire fighter. It is never a easy job and always required a strong hearted person to take the ropes and rains. To show you the way and lead you down the right path or wrong path. To teach you how to overlook the differences of people and look at them like individuals not numbers but actually family member or extended family. He taught me how to learn in different ways then others learn and some people learn differently through the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG),Visual Perceptual Learning and Models,Cognitive learning,Diverse Abilities and Barriers,The W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), Jean Piagets Theory Of Cognitive Development, ABA therapy and teachings, and cognitive, affective and psychomotor learning. Greg taught me a lot throughout my childhood years to adulthood now I know I am a good person thanks to several people who have influenced my life and touched my life along the way. There was never not a day that Greg could put a smile on my face he knew to just smile and I would smile back. he was always had a friendly face that would tell me it was going to be okay not matter what came the way. As long as the sun comes up in the morning and the sunshine rays hit us we know its going to be a good day. But when you put a sad face on your face or have an upside down face then you have to turn it right side up to make it a smiley day. So when you're having a bad day someone else is always having a worse day then you remember to make someone else's day when your day is not so good. Just remember to thank God for the day and say tomorrow will be a better day. God always has plans for us good and bad. Take it a day at a time remember it's just the lasting impression that you leave that people remember not the mistakes. It the joys and the fun that we shared together that bring us together. live life to the fullest never take it for granted. We all should share the joys in life and laughter that we each bring to one another's lives and remember to love one another not judge each other. Be accepting of the things that we can't change and give to those that are in need. Remember to love your sisters and brothers and all living things great or small.
