Gregory J. Riddle, age 74, of Pleasant Hope, passed away on October 25, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Greg was born to Bobby B. Riddle and Laverna Hollenberg on May 11, 1950, in St. Charles, Missouri. He was raised in Bridgeton and graduated from Pattonville High School in 1968. Greg was united in marriage to Victoria Ann Foan on June 28, 1969, in Clayton, Missouri. Greg and Victoria shared 55 years of marriage before Greg's untimely passing on October 25, 2024. The couple was blessed with five children: Alissa (Michael), Katherine (David), James (Erin), Matthew (Meredith), and Erin (Michael), and 22 grandchildren.
Greg was employed as a truck driver for Batesville Casket Company for 45 years. When not working, he had many other interests and pastimes including hunting and fishing. Greg was a member of O'Sullivan #7 Masonic lodge of Walnut Grove, Mo. He loved riding motorcycles and was a founding member of the Widow Sons Templar Riders, a masonic motorcycle riding association. He was an accomplished carpenter and known for his exceptional work in building furniture and 18th century muzzleloaders. He was a founding member of the reenactment group the 1st Royal Regiment Afoot, and 18th century British military unit. He was most happy when surrounded by his children and being with his beloved coonhound, Waylon.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, Bobby B. Riddle and his sister Patricia. He is survived by his mother, Laverna; sister, Joann; and brother, Michael.
A memorial will be held for Greg on November 23, 2024, 10am, at the Bolivar Masonic Lodge #195 located at 261 S. Killingsworth Avenue in Bolivar, Missouri.
Arrangements are under the compassionate direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield, Missouri.
