Gregory Joseph Roebuck, 49, of Winnsboro, Texas, died May 19, 2025. He was born January 1, 1976, in Dallas, Texas, to Nan Ellison Roebuck and the late Gerald Roebuck.
Greg moved with his family to Winnsboro in 1983. He was a typical boy; fishing, exploring in the woods, getting dirty and playing baseball. His dad coached him and his friends in Little League Baseball for several years. He continued playing baseball for Winnsboro High School, where he was a member of the class of 1994. His favorite days of high school were spent behind the plate, catching for the Raiders Baseball team all 4 years.
Over the next several years, Greg worked a variety of trades, travelling to California, Florida and Arizona, before finally returning to Winnsboro. He was most recently a cook at Jamie's Restaurant at Lake Fork. He made a mean burger and was loved by his co-workers and boss. He was the boss' right hand man and could fix anything.
Outside of work, Greg enjoyed the simple things; fishing, playing board games, making people laugh, reading anything about history, watching Antiques Road Show and watching or collecting anything Dallas Cowboys. Most of all, he liked just sitting outside in the quiet with his dog, Dolly.
Greg was a simple, laid-back guy with a sweet smile and kind heart. He was a jokester with a contagious laugh. He loved animals and had a special place in his heart for his past dog, Emmett. He also could never turn away a stray dog or cat and brought several home through the years! He was also an avid music lover. He loved his music!!
Greg was preceded in death by his dad, Gerald Roebuck; his grandparents Voyd and Joan Roebuck and Joe and Alma Ellison; his cousin, Casey Jones; his uncle, Bryant Roebuck and his girlfriend, Stephanie's, daughter, Brooke Blalock.
He is survived by his mom, Nan Roebuck; sisters Melissa Henry and Melanie Roebuck; his longtime girlfriend, Stephanie Blalock; her daughters, Makayla and Audri Griffin; nieces Josie White and Emma Allen; nephew, Matthew Henry; special aunt and uncle, Lesa and David Nichols; uncle, Steve Ellison and many cousins and friends.
Greg was a son, brother, boyfriend, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin, father-figure and friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
In lieu flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local animal shelter, The American Heart Association or any no-kill animal rescue organization.
