Gregory Thomas Simpson, was born to Stacey Simpson and Gregory Lawson, on February 9, 1984 on Fort Rucker, Alabama. He departed his life on earth and entered into eternal rest on June 3, 2025 while vacationing in Angeles Pampanga, Philippines.
Greg grew up in Daleville, Alabama and attended Daleville High school, were he participated in long jump, triple jump and local softball. Greg and his mother later relocated to Little Rock, Arkansas where graduated from Hall High School in 2002. After graduation Greg joined the United States Air Force on the delayed entry program, where he had a successful career as a Munitions Crew Chief, having served at many Air Force Bases including Okinawa, Japan: Aviano, Italy and Diego Garcia. On December 11, 2013 Greg was Honorably discharged after 11 years of Service.
On 2014 Greg accepted a contract position with PKL Services INC. In Saudi Arabia as a Munitions Systems Specialist Instructor for 8 years. On July 1, 2024, He returned to Saudi Arabia for a new position with Alsalam Aerospace Industries as a Munitions Supervisor.
Greg leaves to cherish his memories: His loving Mother Stacey Simpson, Maternal Grandmother Jean Simpson, of Ozark, Alabama, his loving Aunts: and Uncle Faith Williams (John), Of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Christina Simpson of Southaven, Mississippi and Valerie Simpson, of Ozark, Alabama, his cousins, extended military family worldwide and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his cousin Steven Simpson, Maternal Grandfather George Simpson and his Paternal Grandparents Lawyer T. Lawson and Mary Agnes Lawson.
Greg enjoyed traveling the world, meeting people, and experiencing new cultures. He delighted in spending time with family, extended military family and friends. He was a Tequila Connoisseur and a die-hard New Orleans Saints fan. In his free time, he loved playing play station with friends around the world.
His service will webcasted Sat 2:30 to 4pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home- Harrisburg Chapel.
Greg lived by the words: “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr."
