Greg graduated from Alma High School in 1964. He attended Michigan Tech for 1.5 years and then joined the United States Marines with his buddy, Jim Ayres.

He served in Vietnam from 1966-1968. When he returned, he worked at Hudson's in Downtown Detroit in security, where he met two lifelong friends, Gary Hawes and Curtis Bridges.

Greg was a Police Officer for Ann Arbor Police Department for 27 years. He worked as a Patrol Officer on the road, in the B+E Squad with his police partner, Ted Bailey, Special Investigation Unit, and Serial Rapist Task Force. He was a Fire Arms Instructor and was on the SWAT team and then retired as a detective, while working in Major Crimes.

Greg was a Master Mason with the Manchester Masonic Lodge #148. He served as Worshipful Master of the Lodge 1999-2000 and 2006-2007.

Greg worked at Advanced Industries as a delivery driver from 2007 to 2026. He enjoyed the employees, especially his boss, Donna Zahn.

Greg was blessed with one son, Sean Robert Stewart (Dawn Connor).

After Greg married his second wife, Charlotte, he gained another son, Duane Adams; a daughter, Michelle (Don) Houston; and a bonus daughter, Jen Adams. Also, a sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Charlie Creps; brother-in-law, Lee (Alice) Seitz; sister-in-law, Yvonne (Terry) Kieler, and nieces and nephews.

Greg had twelve grandchildren; Michael, Alexandra, Quincy and Sidney Stewart, Jonathon (Amanda), Jeannette and Faith Houston, Allison (Raven) Burgess, Kayla and Tanner Adams, Hannah and Johnny McCracken. He had two great grandchildren, Madeline and Grant Houston.

Greg is also survived by his Columbus Family; niece, Laura Albrecht (Gene); nephew, David Stewart (Julie); great-nephews, Daryl (Toni) and Rob (Leslie) Albrecht; great-niece, Alicia Cox; and great-great, nieces and nephews.

Greg was an avid hunter. He hunted pheasant all over the lower peninsula and in trips to Iowa. He loved his Brittany Spaniels. He also deer hunted all across the Upper Peninsula, including his camp on Drummond Island. Greg loved to fish, and spend time at the Lake driving the boat and taking skiers, tubers, and wakeboarders around the lake.

He enjoyed his tractors and loved the house they lived in, which was his historical family home. He could brush hog trails, plow, disk, and plant food plots. Greg loved his family and enjoyed all the kids. He was always good for a joke or two and sometimes a little spicy. Greg will be dearly missed by all of the hearts he touched.

Greg will be cremated and a service will take place in the Spring.
