Gregory Tavener, 55, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026 in Columbus, Ohio. Gregory was born on July 7, 1970 in Kettering, Ohio to Dean Tavener and Carol Tavener.
Gregory is preceded in death by his wife, Patti Schulze, grandparents, Melba Thies Hunter, Ray and Virgie Tavener, aunt and uncle Ed and Pam Thies, uncle Darrell Tavener.
He is survived by his parents, Carol and Dean Tavener, sister Dawn (Doug) Carlson, son Jacob (Angel) Hribal, grandson Israel Hribal, nieces Sarah and Audrey Carlson, cousin Cheri Mutzner, aunt Diana Tavener. He is also survived by special family friends David (Kathy) Huff, Tom (Lura) Hirt, and Aryn Shortridge.
Greg was the type of man that would do anything for anyone. He was always putting others before himself. He was very compassionate. He would do anything for family, friends or his community. He loved to tease his family, especially his sister.
He loved animals, including cats and dogs. He was a food lover. He was most proud of being a grandfather.
