Gregory J. Winkhart

Gregory James Winkhart was born January 14, 1963, in Massillon, Ohio and passed away March 17, 2024, at home following a brief illness at the age of 61.
Greg was a graduate of Fairless High School and spent his entire working career in the plumbing and pipefitting industry.
A true lover of the great outdoors, he could often be found nestled in hunting blinds or perched high in tree stands in pursuit of his next trophy. The majority of these adventures were shared with his longtime friend and hunting partner, Joe Nicolino.
Beyond his love for the outdoors, Greg had an enormous passion for couching youth football, which he did with great enthusiasm for nearly 15 years within the Fairless Youth Football program touching and shaping many young lives in the process.
Proceeded in death by his father James L Winkhart. He is survived by his mother Lura Edith (Kinney) Winkhart of Navarre, Ohio. His two sons Joshua (Trisha) Winkhart; Brennan (Melissa) Winkhart; his grandchildren Colton, Karter and Xzavier all of Navarre, Ohio. His sister and brother-in-law Laurie & Jeff Shepherd and nephews Cody, Luke and Logan Shepherd.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Rhonda and Sammie Nicewander for being special friends to Greg and for their kindness and support.
A memorial service will take place at Spidell Funeral Home in Brewster, Ohio, on Saturday, March 23rd at 1:00 pm, with Brandon Simmons officiating. Following the service, a celebration of life will be held at the Sugarcreek Valley Sportsman Club, located at 11104 Lawndell Road SW Navarre, Ohio.
