Gregory Leonardo Wright

Gregory Leonardo Wright was born November 1, 1959, to Thelma Brown and Will Wright Jr. in Indianapolis, IN. Gregory had a delightful childhood attending Indianapolis public school and New Bethel Baptist Church in his early years. Gregory attended Arlington High School where he played basketball and was on the yearbook staff as a photographer. He graduated from High School in 1979. After High School Gregory attended Indiana University where he majored in business marketing. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and on staff of IU Soul Review. After graduating from IU in 1986, Gregory took a job in marketing with SofSheen Incorporated. He was a sales Representative par excellence until the company was sold to another corporation. He held various jobs in teaching, sales, and marketing until he found his calling in direct patient care. He worked throughout the greater Indianapolis area with various companies rendering tender loving care to individuals in need. His unique compassionate temperament helped the sick, the elderly, the disabled to feel valued and cared for. As a young adult Gregory joined the Eastern Star Church where he was baptized and served faithfully. Gregory leaves to honor his memory two daughters: Simone Violette Gillion-Wright and Paige Louise Ardell Wright, a son, Anthony Dwayne Dancler Sr. and grandson Anthony Dwayne Dancler Jr. His Three older brothers preceded him in death: Henry Brown III, Willie Allen Brown, and Will Maurice Brown. The younger brother and two older sisters: Robert L Wright, Violet Johnson and Byrdia L Turner remain to cherish his legacy. His first cousins, Landell Hyche and Jerilyn Evans rounded out his circle of love and support. Other first cousins include Abraham Gates, Ruby Ann Hyche-Charles and Carolyn Ann Travis. Gregory was surrounded and adored by a host of nieces and nephews: Tina Faye Turner, Charles Albert Brown, Robert Anthony Turner, Anthony Bellamy, Maurice Devon Brown, Christopher Wright, Jasmine Wright, Robert Wright, and Tyler Wright. Violet Jovon Turner-Moore and Alivonte De'Niel Turner are his Grand niece and nephew. During the final years of his life Gregory affiliated with the Salvation Army where he found the peace the passeth understanding. His fellowship with the brothers and sisters there enriched his life and nourished his soul. The influence of Pastor Cee Cee and the Salvation Army Leadership lifted him to higher heights. The wings of Glory now bear him to his eternal rest in our Lord and Savior Jesus, the Christ.
