Greta D. Coleman, 89 years of age, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026, at home in Palm Coast, FL. Greta was born April 25, 1936, in Cordele, GA, to the late George and Ada Dixon.

Greta married the late Thomas (Larry) Coleman in 1955, and had two children, Marty and Sherri. The family followed Larry to various locations during his Air Force career, with the majority of time spent in Macon, GA. Greta worked in various administrative roles at Macon State College and Brevard Community College (now Eastern Florida State University), and in the Special Operations Forces Funds Management office at Warner Robins Air Force Base, GA.

Greta was a life-long active member of the First United Methodist Church, serving on committees, always enjoyed helping others, and cherished praising the Lord. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved to read, pray for and with others, spending time with family, and always shared her gentle Southern hospitality with a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted to her family, held life-long friendships, and was always thinking of others first.

Greta was preceded in death by her parents, husband and only sibling, Elaine Peavy. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her children, daughter Sherri Hobbs, son Marty Coleman and wife Denise, and her most precious grandchildren Lauren (Kyle) Schmitt, and Greg Coleman (David Sierra). She will also be remembered fondly by her nieces and nephews and their families, as well as a host of friends.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation and thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Gentiva Hospice. If desired, friends and family may make memorial contributions to Gentiva Hospice, 145 City Place, Unit 200A, Palm Coast, FL 32164.
