Cary, North Carolina - Martha Gretchen Barnette Dickson, 87, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, in Cary, NC. Gretchen was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Gregg Dickson and her sister Alida Barnette Baker. She is survived by her stepsons, Blake Dickson (Luanne) of Greensboro, NC and Gregg Dickson of Burlington, NC; nieces Martha Eggleston of Cary, NC, who was her devoted caregiver, and Elizabeth Eggleston of Wilmington, NC, and her step-grandchildren Stephen Dickson, Lisa Curtis (Tony), and Slone Dickson. A graveside service for family and friends will be held Saturday, October 11, at 2PM at Raleigh Memorial Park. The family kindly request donations be made in Gretchen's name to Hayes Barton Baptist Church, or Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh. More on her life story may be found at www.wakefuneral.com.
