Obituary published on Legacy.com by Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory on Dec. 8, 2025.
Gretchen Lee (Fullerton) Huffman, age 93, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025. She was born on June 26, 1932, in Wilmington, Ohio, the daughter of the late Dr. Leland H. Fullerton, M.D., and Elsie (Staubus) Fullerton.
For many years, Gretchen served as the marketing director for Southern State Community College, where her creativity, professionalism, and warm personality helped leave a lasting impression on the institution and the countless individuals she worked alongside. She took great pride in her career and the friendships she formed through her work.
Gretchen was deeply involved in her community and enjoyed participating in many social clubs throughout Hillsboro. She had a gift for conversation and a natural ability to bring people together, always making others feel welcome and valued.
Gretchen is survived by her son, Scott (Letitia) Huffman of Metuchen, NJ; four grandchildren, Matthew Anthony Huffman, Nicholas Vaughn Huffman, Megan Huffman, Molly (Colt) West; five great grandchildren, Jase Huffman, Bexley Reno, Kove Simon, Hendrix West, Leland West, and Daisy West; a sister-in-law, Penny Bower of New Vienna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Levi Huffman; son, Mark Huffman; two sisters, Marguerite Lund, and Brenda Kolb.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gretchen's name to the Highland County Society for Children and Adults, PO Box 972, Hillsboro, OH 45133.
