Gretchen L. Roose, age 63, of Hubbard passed away on Monday January 5, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Gretchen was born July 21, 1962 in Youngstown, Ohio a daughter of Gerald D. & Norma J. Johnson Roose.

She was a 1980 graduate of Hubbard High School.

Gretchen worked in Hospitality Management after earning her degree from Kent State University. She then continued her passion for taking care of people by working in Home Health Care, where she thought of her patients as family.

Gretchen was the heart of her family by staying in touch with all of her extended family and always taking the time to bring everyone together.

She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family; her mother Norma J. Roose of Hubbard, her niece Ryan Shamblin (Jason Williams) of Hubbard, 2 great nieces Valerie Shamblin, Gabrielle Beem, and a great nephew Aedan Shamblin.

She was preceded in death by her father, her son Jason G. Roose, and sister Holly A. Shamblin.

Gretchen will be laid to rest at Hubbard Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ohio, Inc. P.O. Box 72764 Cleveland, Ohio 44192-0002.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.
