Greyson Ronald Byman, 12-year-old son of Joshua & Melanie (Honga) Byman, was born on June 19, 2012 in Park Rapids, MN. He was called to his heavenly home on Thursday September 26, 2024.
He slept away peacefully in his home surrounded by his mother and father following an 18-month battle with brain cancer. After his diagnosis in March of 2023, Greyson endured many months of radiation, chemotherapy, and hospital stays at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Throughout his treatments and hospital stays his mother and father were by his side. Grey was also supported by his siblings, family, friends, school, community, and dear brothers and sisters in faith.
Greyson attended Sebeka Public School from pre-school through 6th grade. He was admired by his classmates and teachers for his kindness and fun-loving personality, quietly including many in his circle of friends. Grey had a determined will and impish nature. He loved to hear and tell jokes and enjoyed making up and playing games. A very active boy, Grey loved swimming and playing football with his brothers, classmates, cousins, and friends. He was very acrobatic, naturally skilled at backflips and other stunts that he would perform on the trampoline or any place in the yard. Most of all, Greyson loved being an uncle and spending his time with family.
Greyson is survived by his parents, Joshua & Melanie Byman; siblings, Tyler (Emily) Peterson, Tori (Rosten) Aho, Natalie Peterson, Raney (Devon) Huttunen, Reece, Tate, and Vance Byman; nephew, Oakley Peterson; nieces, Eliana Peterson, Everly and Ziva Aho; grandparents, Lawrence Byman, and Ronald & Naomi Honga; many aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, classmates, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Barbara Byman.
Greyson touched the lives of many around him. His kind, bright and gentle nature leaves a special imprint on all our hearts.
