FAYETTE- Griff Lewis Griffiths, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at the age of 85 on March 18, 2025, at Ayden Health Care in Wauseon, Ohio. He was born on March 6, 1940, in Fulton County, Ohio, to Homer and Claretta (Walters) Griffiths.
Griff was united in marriage to his cherished wife, Linda, on August 26, 1961, in Elmyra, Ohio. Their bond was a testament to enduring love, as they celebrated 63 years of marriage filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support for one another. Together, they raised three sons, Mark (Kris) Griffiths of Columbus, Ohio, John (Krys) Griffiths of Fayette, Ohio, and Griff D. (Elania) Griffiths of Loxahatchee, Florida. His six grandchildren, Shiloh, Emily, Cody, Sierah, Brenna, Taylor, and Hunter, and seven great grandchildren, Addalee, Lincoln, Reid, Lorelai, Lovelyn, Loreina, and Clayton Jon II, were the apples of his eye, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness. Griff was preceded in death by his parents, his stepbrother, Gayle Griffiths, and his hunting buddies, Jim Storrs, Loyall Snitkey, Jim Zuvers, and Roger Taylor.
Griff spent 40 years at La Choy, where he retired as a maintenance supervisor, and later worked as a project manager at SSOE in Toledo for 8 years. His work ethic and commitment to his responsibilities were admired by all who knew him.
Outside of work, Griff found joy in hunting and fishing, often embarking on trips to Colorado, Michigan, and Hickory Hills. Golf was another favorite pastime, especially when shared with Linda. Their friendly competitions on the course created lasting memories filled with laughter. He cherished the moments he spent outdoors, especially those shared with his sons as they explored nature together. Camo was his signature look, and he wore it proudly, reflecting his love for the great outdoors. Griff was also a familiar face at Fayette sporting events, always cheering on local teams with enthusiasm and spirit.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the Eagle-Marry Funeral Home, Morenci, on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 11:00 am until the Memorial Service begins at 1:00 pm. Rev. Karen King will officiate. Burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date in Pleasant View Union Cemetery, Fayette.
The family requests donations in memory of Griff be made to the Alzheimer's Association, an organization close to their hearts. My heart goes out to the Griffiths family during this time. We had a lot
of memories back in the 50's and 60's. A lot of good times and I'm sure
his family will miss him very much. R.I.P. Griff.
