A memorial service for Griffin Champine, age 59, of Ocheyedan, Iowa, will be held at 4 pm, Friday, March 7, 2025, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Visitation will begin at 2 pm until service time at the funeral home. Griffin passed away at his home in Ocheyedan.
Griffin Lawrence Champine, the son of Kenneth Champine and Irene (Fish) Austin, was born October 27, 1965, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. He graduated from Milford Community School. On September 24, 1994, Griffin was married to Sharon Sauck in Milford, Iowa.
After serving in the military, Griffin worked at John’s Tire Service and later was part-owner of L & C Tire Service. Griffin moved to Ocheyedan, Iowa in 2004 and was currently employed with Sam Wedeking Excavating. Griffin enjoyed working on cars, drag racing, karaoke and fishing.
Griffin passed away February 24, 2025 at his home in Ocheyedan, Iowa at fifty-nine years of age.
He is survived by his mother, Irene Austin; sister, Michelle Mercer (David); nephews, Kyle Champine, Derrick Champine, Dustin Geesman (Theresa) and Cody Mercer; niece, Ashley Matthes; great-nieces and nephews; special friend (Tuck) Deanna Nattress.
Griffin was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Champine; brother, Justin Champine; grandparents; faithful companion, Mo and Jersey and his best friend, Bruce Brosh.
