Lowell L Merry, our beloved dad peacefully passed away November 25, 2025 at age 95.
Lowell, the son of William and Mildred Merry, was born May 21, 1930 in Cherokee, Iowa. He attended Albert City School and was an excellent runner in track. During his high school years he helped on the family farm. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy for two years where he specialized in repairing essential military equipment aboard the naval training station.
On June 13 1951, he married the love of his life, Donna Lu Peterson. They were blessed with four children, Dennis, Debbie, Dawn and Diana. Throughout the years, his family grew by welcoming daughter-in-law, Laura Reinders, sons-in-law, Dave Coleman, Vaughn Coleman and Jeff Reinders; ten grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. His growing family was one of his greatest joys.
During his life he worked at various jobs including a milkman for Wells Blue Bunny, manager of Noel Ready Mix, foreman for Spencer Construction, part owner of Buy Rite Food Center and a USPS rural mail carrier for thirty-one years retiring at the age of 85.
He enjoyed playing golf for many years and most of all he loved spending time with his family. He devoted his life to the Lord in 1973. He loved the Lord with all his heart and that was felt by everyone who came in contact with him.
Lowell is survived by numerous family members which include his three sisters all of Storm Lake, Billie Ann Melohn, age 97, Jean Sievers, age 90 and Ginny Lewis, age 93.
Lowell touched many many lives with his sweet and kind spirit and was considered by those close to him as a prayer warrior! He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him but rejoice with him as he is now being comforted and has finished his journey with his faith in the Lord!
