A Come & Go Celebration of Life Gathering for Jim Boysel, age 79, of Milford will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 11:00am - 3:00pm at the Milford American Legion Hall.
Floyd James Boysel (Jim), 79, of Milford, Iowa, passed away on February 6, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville, Iowa.
Floyd was born on December 15, 1946, in Muscatine, Iowa, to Floyd and Margret Boysel. After graduating from high school, he became a certified mechanic. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Seabee for two years and was honorably discharged.
On August 28, 1978, Floyd was married to Penny Boysel in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Together they shared 50 years of marriage and built a life full of memories and love. Floyd lived in several places throughout his life, including Spirit Lake, Muscatine, Arizona and California before settling in Milford more than 30 years ago.
Floyd was happiest outdoors, often found sitting on his scooter visiting with neighbors. He loved gardening, grilling, and especially smoking meat on his smoker. Cooking was a true passion of his and he enjoyed searching for recipes, printing them out, and trying new dishes. He also took pride in making his own wine and beer.
Family was very important to Floyd. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren, Bella and Chandler, and enjoyed playing Bubble Shooter with his daughter, Randi Ann. He also deeply loved his cat, Bootsie, who was a constant companion and favorite snuggling partner.
Floyd was known as a very hard worker throughout his life. For many years, he managed the apartments at South View, where he took great care of both the property and the tenants, always making sure their needs were met.
Floyd is survived by his daughter, Randi Ann Dye of Denver, Colorado; son, Chris Green of Milford, Iowa; daughter, Amber Johnson of Iowa; grandchildren, Samantha Dye, Austin Dye, Kyle Green, Tanner Green, Tatum Green, Drake Green, Neil Moore, Megan Moore and Dakota Moore; great-grandchildren, Isabella Moore, Chandler Lange, Karlie Meyer, Emmett Moore and Layla Moore; and brothers, Randy Boysel and Gary Boysel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Margret Boysel; his beloved wife, Penny Boysel; and his daughter, Brenda Stone.
