Guadalupe Evelyn Garza, 72, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
Public viewing will from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 21, 2025, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Pastor Lupe Mata, associate pastor of Oasis Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mrs. Garza was born May 25, 1953 in San Antonio to Francisco and Natividad Nanez. Evelyn has been a resident of San Angelo since 1979. She married Ricky Garza on March 13, 1982 in San Angelo. Evelyn worked for GTE Verizon for 34 years in the customer service department. Evelyn attended Oasis Baptist church. She Loved serving and being at church. Evelyn was known by her family as caring, she would reach out to check on them. Evelyn enjoyed her family and traveling. She was an avid Texas Tech football fan.
Survivors include her husband, Ricky Garza of the home; two sons, Lee Castro and wife Michelle, and Marcello Garza and wife Martha all of San Angelo; three close family friends, whom Evelyn treated as her own sons, Jimmy Garcia of Brownfield, Amador Garza of Lubbock, and Emmett Mediano and wife Cynthia of San Angelo; 10 grandchildren, Brendon Castro and Fiance Alexis Sanchez, Jeremy Castro and wife Alexa, Colby Castro, Gavin Castro, Dalilih Arizari and husband Izaiha, Mireya Garza and fiance Johnny Pena, Naveah Garza, Mykayla Garza, Nicholas Garza, and Francisco Garza; seven great grandchildren, Zachehiah, Cessalee, Kianna, Daylin, Nova, Luciana, and Moses; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lupe and Lupe Garza of San Angelo; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Garza, and Chris Zapata and husband Louis both of San Angelo; and two brothers-in-law, Rene Garza and wife Mary, and Mark Garza both of San Angelo.
