North Richland Hills - Guadalupe "Lupe" Nilo, the Matriarch of our family passed away on October 31, 2023 at the age of 96, to be with our Savior Jesus Christ.
Rosary/Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Mount Olivet Chapel, 2301 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 13, 2023 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 7341 Glenview Drive, North Richland Hills, Texas. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Funeral Reception to be held at Rudy's Country Store and Bar-B-Q Monday November 13th at 12:30pm. Located at 6800 N Fwy Service Rd E. Fort Worth, TX, 76137.
Lupe was born August 5, 1927, in North Dakota to Perfecto and Sipriana Martinez.
She married Manuel Nilo, October 1, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas and settled in Sansom Park to raise their five children. She was a Christian and spent her life with Manuel serving their church, St. Thomas Catholic Church in Fort Worth. She was a strong believer and faithful servant of Jesus Christ.
Lupe enjoyed being around her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed going on vacations with her family and was a volunteer at Sansom Park Elementary. Lupe was fond of watching Bonnie play her violin, listening to her children sing in their elementary choir and watching her sons play in their many sporting events. She loved listening, singing and dancing to Mexican music.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel R Nilo; parents, Perfecto and Sipriana Martinez; sisters, Josefina Cruz and husband Santiago, Sylvia Flores and husband Jimmy, Timo Perez and husband Tony; brother, Seferino Martinez.
She is survived by her sister Ramona Lopez and husband Raul of Fort Worth, her children, Conception Nilo-Miles and husband Bob of Saginaw, Maria Lowrance and husband Bob of North Richland Hills, John Manuel Nilo and wife JoAnn of Richland Hills, Freddy Nilo and wife Patty of Aledo, Lupe Mair and husband Mark of Fort Worth. Lupe has 5 children, 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
We are all truly blessed to have had Lupe in our lives for such a long time and she will be dearly missed.
