Guillermo Lambayan

Guillermo Lambayan, 87, Hilo, Passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at residence. Born on February 10, 1938 in Punene, Maui. After graduating from Farrington High School in 1957, he served in the US Army National Guard and US Army Reserve until 1966, eventually retiring from Young Brothers Ltd. in Hilo, Hawaii. As one of the founding members of Ohana Lehua Bonsai Club, Gilly" had an immense passion for the art and culture of Bonsai. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Memorial Service at 6 p.m. An Urn Committal Service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Homelani Memorial Park at 10 a.m. He is survived by:sister, Juanita Highsmith of New Jersey; daughters, Anazette (Glen) Pasion of Kapolei, Tammy (Craig)Lambayan-Schwartz of Washington State, Lorna Lee of Hilo and Jenny (John) Northern-Taylor of Mililani; step-son, Carl (Sodsai) Andaya of Long Beach, California; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
