Kostas Poulos,78, left this world peacefully on the morning of Saturday, November 29, 2025 in
Greenville, South Carolina.
Kostas was born on October 10, 1947 in the small village of Mygdalia in the Arcadian region of Greece. He was the son of Kyriakos Polychronopoulos and Gerorgia Stathopoulou. He grew up in Tripoli, Greece, where he completed elementary school and learned the art of tailoring before serving in the Greek Army. After his time in the military and apprenticing in tailoring, he left his homeland for a new life in America, where he was determined to establish a family and a business in Greenville. He became a master of his trade and was a respected clothier and businessman for over 45 years and was a shining example of an immigrant who succeeded against all odds.
Those who knew and loved Kostas know he always made sure to be dressed impeccably in bespoke suits and the most striking accessories. He took great pride in his profession and his store, Custom Tailors. His work and his family were his top priorities and source of pride. Kostas was a bold man wrapped in a cloak of integrity, preserved in authenticity, and also offered a dry sense of humor that only those closest to him would understand.
He is survived by his loving wife, Hrisanthi Poulos, his two children, Kyriakos Poulos and Aggeliki Azer, and his 3 grandchildren. He is also survived by his three siblings, George, Panos, and Georgia of Greece.
A visitation service to honor the life of Kostas Poulos will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the evening on Monday, December 8, 2025 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown located at 639 North Main Street,
