Guy Howard Ball

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Guy. He was surrounded by his loving family. Guy was a lifelong resident of the beautiful seaside community of Point Lookout, New York. He served his town with love and devotion and was an active member of the Civic Association and the Church of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. An avid sailor and golfer, he served as commodore of the Point Lookout Yacht Club and was an active member of both the Rockville Links Country Club and the Mariner Sands Country Club in Stuart, Florida. Guy was committed to giving back to his community. He served on the Board of Bethany House, a charity dedicated to providing support for homeless families, and Sacred Heart Academy, Hempstead New York. 
A graduate of Chaminade High School and Villanova University, Guy went on to earn his MBA from New York University, laying the foundation for a successful career as a financial consultant at Merrill Lynch (Bank of America) that spanned over four decades.
In 1962, Guy married the love of his life, Mary Louise West, with whom he shared a beautiful partnership that lasted more than 63 years. Together, they raised three children: Lisa Haack, Christopher Ball (Kerri), and Michaela Sheridan (Peter). Guy was immensely proud of his children and his seven grandchildren: Molly (Daniella) and Casey Haack, Ryan and Christopher Ball, and Lily, Madelyn, and Devin Sheridan. Guy was predeceased by his parents, Rita Juliana Hetterich and Howard W. Ball. He leaves behind his sister, Michelle Nollenberger (Tom), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Known for his unwavering faith, joyful spirit, and smile that could light up a room, Guy embodied integrity and compassion, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. He inspired others to do better, love more, and laugh harder. We miss him already.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Guy’s honor, reflecting his lifelong commitment to giving back to others.
A celebration of his life will be held at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, Point Lookout, NY on Saturday, November 30th, 2024 @ 10:00 AM.
