Guy Michael DeSimone, 69, of Berlin, CT passed away peacefully after a long illness on January 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Guy was born on January 16, 1956 to Francis and Beverly (Linnell) DeSimone in Manchester, CT, a place where he always felt at home. Guy was fiercely loyal to his family and friends, and their ultimate protector through the end of his life.
Guy built his legacy from the ground up. Through curiosity and resilience, he grew a successful business that he was proud of and showed his children the value of ambition. Guy worked hard throughout his life to provide for his family and give his children opportunities to thrive. He believed deeply that “there are only two lasting things that we can hope to give our children: one is roots and the other is wings.”
Guy believed in the importance of experiences and loved to travel with family and friends - from summer trips to Cape Cod, traveling with dear friends throughout Europe, and countless golf trips. Guy was ever spontaneous and silly, and always found a way to make those around him laugh. He had a profound love for music that provided him comfort throughout his life.
Guy is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Jane (Christiano) DeSimone, his daughter Christina Giordano (Andrew) of West Hartford, his son Jeremy DeSimone of Manchester, and his adoring grandchildren Ava and Leo Giordano. Guy cherished his wife who selflessly cared for him and was his safe place throughout his illness. His children and grandchildren were the joys of his life, and they will deeply miss their dad and Grampy.
Guy is also survived by his mother, Beverly DeSimone, and his siblings Joel DeSimone, Mark DeSimone (Kim), Lynn Kozlowski (Lenny), Mary Donald (Chris), Dawn Sprague (Ray), Neal DeSimone, and John DeSimone (Jen) and his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends. Guy was predeceased by his father, Francis DeSimone, his in-laws Rocco and Elizabeth Christiano, and his nephews, Ryan Kerley and Neal DeSimone.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy., Berlin, CT 06037 and to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. James Church, 896 Main St, Manchester, CT 06040. Guy will be laid to rest at St. James Cemetery in Manchester, CT.
The DeSimone family is grateful for the compassionate care that Guy received from Pansy Homecare, Arden Courts of Farmington, and Brighton Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital Memory and Movement Disorders Unit and The J. Philip Kistler Stroke Research Center, where Guy was proud to participate in a research study. Please share a memory of Guy with the family in the online guestbook at www.ericksonhansenberlin.com
