It is with profound sadness and gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Guy Murray. He fought hard in his final days but passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, at Hospice of Cincinnati. He was 95 years old and lived a great life, enjoying 74 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Ramona.

Guy was born on June 7, 1930, at his grandparents' small farm in Cairo, Ohio.

He spent his childhood growing up on that same farm alongside his five much older uncles and aunts. After his grandfather passed away in 1944, Guy, his youngest aunt, and his grandmother moved to Lima, Ohio. He was 14 years old at the time. Guy attended Lima Central High School, where he was an excellent student who consistently earned high grades. As a young man, he enjoyed playing backyard football, through which he met his future brothers-in-law. It was through his friendship with Ramona's brothers that he met the love of his life, Ramona Nameche.

Guy did not have a traditional family life growing up, which strengthened his deep commitment to creating a close and loving immediate family. On three separate occasions, he purchased homes directly next to those of his children and grandchildren, even building a stone walkway to tie some of the properties together.

He was remarkably self-reliant and could do any task he set his mind to. We can recall only one or two occasions when he hired someone else for a job. Once was hiring a local landscape company to design and build a beautiful Chinese garden, complete with a pond and fountain, in their backyard to make his wife's dreams come true. Beyond that, he could easily do plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work. He rebuilt a car engine and an old boat in the driveway, repaired the family car while camping, raised the roof on our home, and added extra rooms. On one memorable occasion, he handed his sons hammers and told them to remove a wall because the living room had become too crowded with everyone in the room watching TV.

Later in life, he focused on fine finish carpentry. In a workshop he built and attached to his home, he created beautiful dollhouses, furniture, and craft items. He also built custom cabinets and shelving for his wife's lingerie shop, remodeling it to rival anything found in a Victoria's Secret store.

Guy was not only an exceptional craftsman but also quick to learn and embrace new technology. He owned more computer laptops than any of his children or grandchildren. When his wife wanted to organize and track her customers' information, he taught himself computer programming and used a RadioShack computer to create a database for her.

He is survived by his brother-in-law, Don Nameche; four sons: Mike (Helen Jasper) Murray, Mark (Diane Stacey) Murray, Matt Murray, and Mitch (Emily Humphrey) Murray; seven grandchildren: Stacy (Brian) Akers, Trevor (Kris) Murray, George (Lauren Karas) Murray, Natalie (Dustin) Page, Mathew Murray, and Marlena (Mark) Duggan; and ten great-grandchildren.

Guy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ramona; two brothers-in-law, Gene (and his wife Charlene) Nameche and Leo Nameche; his daughter-in-law, Martha Murray; and his mother.

A small private service for immediate family will be held later in April. In lieu of flowers, donations in Guy's memory may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati at hospiceofcincinnati.org.
