Michael Francis Murray, 71, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, in Monroe, Louisiana. Born on August 29, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, Michael lived a life marked by creativity, innovation, and a deep connection to both people and nature.

Michael was the beloved husband of Teresa (née Bailia) Murray and a devoted father to his sons, James Michael and Gerard Patrick. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Riley, Michaela, Lydia, Georgia, Katelyn, and Nathan. He is also survived by his brother James Murray and sisters Elizabeth Murray, Annette Sullivan, and Margaret Gallagher. Michael was predeceased by his parents, James Murray and Georgia (née Lennon) Murray.

A visionary entrepreneur with an extraordinary ability to see potential where others might not, Michael was an early innovator in computer-based and online learning. His forward-thinking approach helped shape modern educational tools that continue to impact countless lives. Beyond the realm of technology, Michael's entrepreneurial spirit extended into the culinary world with the creation of Chef's Loft Studio and several restaurants. He also established a unique contract food production facility designed specifically for resorts and conference centers.

Michael's creativity knew no bounds. He had a passion for breathing new life into old homes and founded a company dedicated to building durable tiny homes-an endeavor that reflected both his ingenuity and his commitment to sustainable living.

Despite his many professional accomplishments, Michael found solace and joy in nature. He found peace in nature, often enjoying time by lakes, rivers, or oceans. Boating on tranquil waters or hosting a campfire under the stars with friends brought him immense joy.

While not outwardly pious, Michael was a faith-filled Christian whose life was guided by the Holy Spirit. His words carried encouragement and wisdom that endeared him to many as a trusted mentor and faithful friend.
