It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Karen Walters, 68, of Monroe who passed away peacefully at home on March 27th, 2026, after a long, courageous battle with lung disease.
Karen was born on August 8th, 1957, to Daisy McHenry and the late Gene Allbritton in Hot Springs, AR. Cherished wife of the late Robert Walters and mother of five children, Karen devoted her life to those she loved. Born a gentle and nurturing soul, Karen was always there to lend a helping hand and patient ear to anyone in need. Throughout her life, she had several occupations, most notably an LPN in her early life and a paraprofessional at J.S. Clark Magnet school in her later years. She had a mothering spirit and a special love for children, making all those around her feel welcome, special, and loved. She especially loved creating gifts for those around her by sewing, crafting, and baking. She will be remembered for her creativity, generosity, and quiet strength she brought to those around her. Her love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Karen is survived by her mother, Daisy McHenry; sister, Beth Wilson and husband Artis; brother, Michael Allbritton and wife Jeanie Allbritton; her five children: Will Walters and spouse Gaea, Terry Walters and partner Melanie Balsamo, Jessica Nash and husband Matt, Jennifer Walters and partner Justin Kindrix, Hanna Walters and husband Sam Parrino; as well as her seven grandchildren: Simon, Lola, Lennox, Rei, Locke, Miles, and Lucca.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Billy Gene Allbritton; brother, Terry Allbritton; husband, Robert Walters; and stepfather, Joe McHenry.
