Guy Edward Osgood

September 29, 1960 - August 28, 2025

Guy Edward Osgood, 64, of Lempster, NH, passed away peacefully with family by his side on August 28 at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative & Hospice Care, after a short bout with cancer.

"Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality." - Emily Dickinson

Known affectionately as Gus, Ghee, and GG, Guy was an avid outdoorsman with a strong work ethic and a heart full of generosity. He was born to the late Wayland and Virginia (Whiting) Osgood in Concord, VT, and raised in Dalton, NH. He attended Newport schools before joining his father in construction, where he worked on everything from foundations to bridges and everything in between.

Guy's adventurous spirit later led him across the country as a logger, before returning home to New Hampshire where he also provided scrapping services. He eventually purchased property in Lempster, where he proudly built his handmade, custom home.

Guy had a gift for storytelling - his tales were often elaborate, sometimes embellished, and always entertaining. He delighted in making people laugh with his antics and humor. His greatest passions, however, were fly fishing and teaching family and friends the art he so deeply loved. He also enjoyed hunting and birding "with the boys," tending his garden, making his renowned maple syrup, and playing a competitive game of cribbage.

Guy was the kind of person who would help anyone, no questions asked. He never met a stranger he couldn't turn into a friend and left an impression on everyone he encountered.

Guy is survived by his son, Jonathan Osgood, and Jonathan's partner Lauren King, of Claremont, NH, along with his beloved granddaughter Lillie Osgood. He also leaves behind his loving partner of over 13 years, Cheri LeMere of Newport, NH, and her family: Jeremy LeMere; Douglas LeMere and his partner Sammi Gambino with their children Olivia, Browen, and James; and Rachel LeMere with her children Thomas, Abigail, and Kyle.

Guy is also survived by his brothers: Michael Osgood and his wife Joanie of Goshen, NH; Daryl Osgood and his wife Jen of Lancaster, VA; and Timothy Osgood of Charlestown, NH; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will also be lovingly remembered by his best friend - his "brother from another mother" - Bimbo Simino.

Service details will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family will provide donation information soon.

"The river has called him home, where the currents are calm and the trout always rise."
