Dr. Guy Bruce Waldo, 69, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Redcrest Hospice House in Bloomington. Born April 4, 1956, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the son of Guy Harold and Barbara Francis (Scudder) Waldo.

Bruce was a 1974 graduate of Bedford High School and a 1982 graduate of Indiana University, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. He devoted his career to the practice of medicine, serving as a physician alongside his father at Bedford Regional Medical Center, at Edgewood Clinic in Bedford, as Medical Director for Healthsource in Indianapolis, and later as Medical Director for Unity Physicians Group in Bloomington. He retired in 2009 after many years of dedicated service.

Bruce was a member of the Stonecroft Bible Study Group. He was a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend who especially treasured time spent with his children and family. He delighted in playing board games, kicking a soccer ball, and adventuring with his children. Family fishing trips to Florida, bird watching, biking, coaching soccer, and arts and crafts were among his favorite pastimes. He was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers. Known for his intelligence and love of history, Bruce enjoyed thoughtful discussions and was always eager to teach and share his knowledge. He will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.

Bruce is survived by his children, Ryan (Ashlie) Waldo of Indianapolis, Indiana; Emily Waldo of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; Eric Waldo of Chicago, Illinois; and Jack Waldo of Exeter, New Hampshire; four grandchildren, Theodore, Cohen, and Daisy Waldo, and Koraline Navarro; two brothers, Brian (Julie) Waldo of Bedford, Indiana, and Chris (Laura) Waldo of Wisconsin; his stepsister, Lisa (Sandy) Zehr of Bedford; his stepbrother, Barry Brown of Bedford; his stepmother, Judy Waldo of Bedford, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Barbara Waldo.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes, 818 18th Street, Bedford, Indiana. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., also at Ferguson-Lee Chapel. Cremation rites have been accorded.
