Guy Waugh Obituary

Mr. Guy Rufus Waugh, 92, of 2593 Hickory Hwy., Statesville, died Saturday, October 9, 2004 at his residence. He was born on February 26, 1912 in Iredell County, to the late Cicero Henkle and Marybelle Hoover Waugh. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Front Street Baptist Church. On October 18, 1936, he married the former Blanche Jacobs, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Dwight Douglas Waugh (Cherly) of Blue Ridge, Ga. and Keith Clayton Waugh (Joanne) of Jonesboro, Ga.; one daughter, Sharon Waugh Gibson (Roger) of Statesville; four grandchildren, Crystal Locke of Olive Branch, MS, Al Gibson of Virginia Beach, Va., Joshua Gibson (Mandy) of Statesville and Rod Millirons of Jonesboro, Ga.; four great grandchildren, Calley, Clayton, Jake and Emily and one sister, Mrs. Velma Waugh Bost of Stony Point. He is also survived by loving pets, Susie and Tiger. He was preceded in death by five brothers, James, William, Walter and Harold Waugh and one sister Mrs. Annie W. Ervin.

Funeral services for Mr. Waugh will be conducted at 2:00 on Tuesday at Front Street Baptist Church, with Rev. Gerald Bontrager and Rev. Wayne Riddle officiating. Burial will follow in Iredell Memorial gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
