Guy Dimick Whisner

1934 - 2025

Guy Dimick Whisner, 91, of Frederick, Maryland passed suddenly at his home on Sunday December 21, 2025. Born February 27, 1934 in Frederick to the late Charles and Mae Mills Whisner. He was the beloved husband, of 72 years, to Ethel Minerva Hann Whisner.

Guy was a graduate of Frederick High School where he excelled in sports. He was a member of the Track Team and the Tumbling Team. After high school he would go on to work for Price Electric, Ox-Fiber Brush Company, and Sears where he would retire from. Guy met his wife, Ethel, at the Great Frederick Fair. They would get married on April 4, 1953. He would faithfully visit his wife while she resides at a nursing home.

Guy loved to travel and take cruises. He also enjoyed country music and movies. Guy was able to meet several country music stars including Roy Rogers. He was known to visit Dollywood every year. Guy will always be remembered as a hard worker and a kind man.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by; his daughter Sally Whisner (Samantha Hoague) of New Market, his granddaughter Abigail Hoague of Frederick, great-granddaughter Sarah Hoague of Frederick, his son Guy David Whisner of Virginia, sister-in-law Betty Hann Miller of Frederick, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his granddaughter Abigail, grandson Michael Paul, his siblings Charles Whisner, Jr., Robert Whisner, Irene Elkins, Doris Ropp, and Phillip Whisner.

Family and friends can gather at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701, on Monday December 29, 2025, from 12pm until the start of the funeral service at 1pm.
