Gwendolyn Joyce Green, 79, of Alpharetta went home to be with her Lord and Savior early Saturday morning, December 2, 2023. Gwen is predeceased by her parents, Clifton and Edna Casper.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Loy Green; daughter and son-in-law, Joanna (Jodi) and Marcus Ball of Darby, Montana; grandson, Marc and Donna Ball of New York; great granddaughter, Lindy Jones and great grandson, Bobby and Deena Jones of New York; 2 great great grandchildren; and cousins, Margaret and James Cross and Miriam Freeman.
Gwen is retired from Fulton County Schools and Publix. She was a longtime Childrens’Sunday School Teacher and nursery worker. All the children knew her as Granny Gwen, the candy lady.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 5, at 2:00 p.m. at Greater Heights Baptist Church, 3790 Post Road, Cumming, Georgia 30040 with Rev. Chris Grinstead, Mr. David Page and Rev. Mark Ball officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Milton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
