Gwendolyn L. Landers affectionately known as “Ray”, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, at the age of 64. Known for her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering kindness, Gwendolyn touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born in Lake Village, Arkansas at Chicot Memorial Hospital, Gwendolyn dedicated her life to nurturing others—whether through her work, her community involvement, or the love she poured into her family. She was a woman of quiet strength and deep compassion, always ready with a listening ear, a thoughtful word, or a helping hand.
Gwendolyn is survived by her mother, Susie Byrd (Bill); her son, Rodney Landers Sr. (Natalie); sisters: Shirley Faye Alexander (Ben), Mary Rison, Cornelia Landers, Meredith Fletcher (James), Loretta Fletcher, Delilah Hampton (Donald Ray); and brother, Reginald Jones, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews who will carry forward her legacy of grace, generosity, and resilience. She was preceded in death by her father, Cornelius Landers; sister, Jacqueline Smiley-Green (Anthony); daughter, Amber Landers; son, Jimmy Coleman II; nephews: KaMarious Reed and Jeremy “Frisco” Waters.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
