It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gwendolyn M. Norris, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us on April 8, 2025, at the age of 86. Gwendolyn was born on September 24, 1938, in Kingston, Jamaica to her parents George and Nita Francis. She brought her kind and caring spirit to the lives of those around her.
Gwendolyn pursued an education that led her to earn an Associate's degree, demonstrating her commitment to personal growth and professional development. Her career path took her into the realm of cosmetics, where she worked in clerical positions, showcasing her organizational skills and dedication to serving others.
Gwendolyn was a cherished member of her family. She is survived by her loving daughter, Debby DiModugno, her son, Christian Peaks, and her beloved granddaughter, Kaylan DiModugno. She was also predeceased by her sister, The Late Pearl, who held a special place in her heart.
A Mass in memory of Gwendolyn will be held on April 12, 2025, at 11:15 AM at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, located at 125 Half Hollow Rd., Deer Park, NY 11729. Family and friends who wish to attend the services are asked to meet directly at the church by 11:00 AM. This gathering will be an opportunity for family and friends to honor her life and the love she shared with all who knew her. A Mausoleum Entombment will be held immediately after at Pinelawn Memorial Park, East Farmingdale, NY.
Gwendolyn M. Norris will be remembered for her warm-hearted nature and her unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will continue to inspire those who carry her memory forward.
