Hazel "Sue" Dickens, 94, of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Life Care Health Center in Sullivan.
Sue was born on August 27, 1931, to George and Stella (Tyree) Garner in Sullivan where she grew up attended local schools. She was united in marriage to Floyd Dickens on June 6, 1952, in Norfolk, Virginia and they were blessed with a beloved daughter, Dorann. They lived in various parts of the country for Floyd's employment however after retirement they made their home in the Bourbon and Sullivan areas.
Sue was a dedicated Christian, surrendering her life to Christ at an early age. She attended Faith Assembly for many years where she taught Sunday School and was active in the Women's Ministries Program. Whatever needed to be done, Sue was a willing vessel for the Lord.
Sue loved to travel and enjoyed camping and fishing with her family. Through the years she and Floyd enjoyed many hunting trips to Minnesota as well as their involvement with Citizens Band Radio group. Sue was also a wonderful seamstress and an excellent baker.
Sue is survived by her beloved daughter, Dorann Bush and husband, Chuck of Dillon, MT; two grandchildren: Wade Bush and wife, Rory and Brent Bush all of Dillon, MT; three great-grandchildren: Natalie Bush of Shawnee, KS, Ellie & Michael Bush of Dillon, MT; a sister, Elaine Mueller of Katy, TX; sister-in-law, Loneta Garner of Sullivan, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; a grandson, Scott Bush; her parents, George and Stella Garner; and three brothers, Gary, Vernon and Darrell Garner; and one sister Deloris Garner.
A Graveside Service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Old Argo Cemetery in rural Sullivan with Pastor Alan Teal officiating.
A Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Faith Assembly of God in Sullivan, MO, with a lunch and fellowship following the service.
