H. Willis "Willie" Eshbaugh of Summerville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. He had just celebrated his 100th Birthday in July.
Born in Summerville on July 14, 1924, he was the son of the late Harry V. and Edna Boozer Eshbaugh.
He was a graduate of Clarion-Limestone High School and was a lifelong active member of Pleasant Hill Bible Church. In the 1970's he became involved in "The Beaver Creek Project" and was a Board Member for the Clarion County Conservation District.
He proudly and honorably served his country. A WW II Veteran he was a Commissioned Navigator and completed B-29 Flight Engineer School.
He was married on June 20, 1948 to Nellie Virginia Carrier. They enjoyed 70 years of marriage prior to her death on January 2, 2019.
Earlier in life he was a member of and eventually became Chief of Summerville Volunteer Fire Department.
Prior to his retirement, he and his brother, John were partners in a construction company building many homes for families in thearea.
His survivors include his son, Willis E. Eshbaugh; his son-in-law; Stanley (Jane) Fleming; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Fleming and Ginnie (Philip) McKinley; his six great grandchildren; Jonathan, Ethan, Ashlyn, Logan, Hadley and Ruby; and his brother; Vern ( Betsy ) Eshbaugh.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sally J. Fleming; two brothers, James and John Eshbaugh; and his sister, Helen Allshouse.
His family will receive friends on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. An addition hour of visiting will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 10-11AM at the funeral home prior to the funeral service at 11AM with Pastor Keith Deihl, of Pleasant Hill Bible Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Clover Twp, Jefferson County.
