H. Wayne Sprowles, 91, of Campbellsville, KY., passed away peacefully March 9th, 2026. He was born on December 22, 1934 in Taylor Co. He was the son of the late Willie Sprowles and Katie Nelson Sprowles.

Mr Sprowles professed faith in JESUS CHRIST early in life and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mary Helen Allen Sprowles, who passed away in December 2024; infant son, Alan Wayne Sprowles; sister, Sadie Underwood Skaggs and brother, Willard Underwood.

Survived by daughters: Billie Diane Pyles Mardis of Campbellsville; Retha Sprowles Baumle of Louisville. Grandsons, Brandon Mardis, (fiance' Jayne); Kyle Mardis (fiance' Tracy). One great grand daughter, Makayla Mardis. Two great great grandsons Axton New and Alec Mardis. Brother, Olyn Sprowles. Sister, Myrtle Grimes (Billy). Also survived by a host of nieces/nephew/cousins and many friends.

Mr Sprowles worked for 14 years for American Tobacco Co. in Louisville. And then retired after 31 years from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

Known as "Sporty", he enjoyed drag racing for many years. He loved buying cars and cleaning on cars, (he always had the cleanest car in town.) He also enjoyed working in his yard, and mowing/trimming shrubs for others.

Wayne Sprowles was a humble man who loved his family and friends.

A special thank you to the entire staff at Bluegrass Assisted Living, who cared for him and loved him dearly.
