Halina K. Adgate, born on August 6, 1949, in Hildesheim, Germany, passed away on March 7, 2026. At the young age of three, Halina embarked on a new chapter in her life when she immigrated to America through Ellis Island in 1952. This journey laid the foundation for a rich and fulfilling life characterized by love, adventure, and a deep commitment to family.
A passionate gardener, Halina found joy and solace in nurturing her plants, allowing her garden to flourish just as she nurtured her loved ones. Her children, Sean Adgate (Allison) and Alicia Adgate (Mike MacLean), were always the center of her universe. Halina took immense pride in her role as a mother, cherishing each moment spent with her beloved grandchildren, Brayden and Brynn. Their laughter and joy were the highlights of her life, and she reveled in creating cherished memories with them.
An adventurous spirit, Halina embraced the world with open arms. Her love for travel took her to numerous destinations, where she explored diverse cultures and cuisines, broadening her horizons and enriching her experiences. Each journey contributed to her vibrant personality, creating stories that she would gladly share with family and friends.
Halina is survived by her loving children, Sean and Alicia, her cherished grandchildren, Brayden and Brynn, her loving mother Anna Kowalczyk (Bukatzcok), her devoted sister, Barbara (William), her niece Devon and Nephew, Bill. She was preceded in death by her father, Wojciech Kowalczyk whose legacy of strength and perseverance she carried throughout her life.
Family and friends are invited to Halina's Visitation 10:00-11:30 AM on Friday, March 13, 2026 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:30 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
Halina K. Adgate will be remembered as a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, and a passionate traveler whose spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. Her legacy of love and adventure will continue to inspire all who knew her.
