Hannah Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Joe Morris & Son Funeral Home on Feb. 10, 2026.
Hannah Lee Johnson was born on November 25, 1945, in Pensacola, Florida, to Leslie Johnson and Ola Mae Johnson. She attended Booker T. Washington High School and later earned her GED. In 1963, Hannah married the late Calvin E. Patterson, and their union was blessed with two children: a son, David, and a daughter, Tracy. In 1972, she married the late George H. Johnson, Jr., and their union was blessed with two children: a son, Terrence, and a daughter, Camela.

In her pursuit of lifelong learning, Hannah continued her education at Troy State University, where she received an Associate of Science Degree in Business Administration in 2000, followed by a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 2002. She was planning to return to school for a master's degree when she first fell ill. Her determination and love of learning inspired her daughters to pursue their own paths in higher education and have been passed down to her grandchildren. Throughout her life, Hannah worked in both nursing and sales, which allowed her to share her faith in God, compassion, kindness, and strong work ethic with others. She was a hard worker, often working multiple jobs at a time to make ends meet when needed. This dedication to keeping her family fed and sheltered, even when it delayed her from reaching her career and educational goals, was symbolic of how she lived her life – never giving up. She will be remembered for this fighting spirit. And despite any challenges she faced, she always enjoyed good times with family and friends.

On February 2, 2026, Hannah peacefully transitioned from this life at 80 years of age after bravely battling a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Ola Mae Johnson, her sons, David Damone Patterson and Terrence Keith Johnson; three sisters Sarah Ann Johnson, Ola Mae West, and Annie Lee Jackson; and five brothers Leslie Johnson Jr., Arthur Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Terrance Johnson, and Tony Johnson.

Hannah's memory will be forever cherished by her devoted daughters, Dr. Tracy (Kenneth) Delk of Brunswick, Ohio, and Dr. Camela Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; her four grandchildren, DaLisa (Kamal) Delk Cann of Lakewood, Ohio; Kenneth Delk Jr., and Jamal Delk of Brunswick, Ohio; and Laila Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; one great-granddaughter, Kennedy Cann of Lakewood, Ohio; her brother, James Johnson of Pensacola, FL; her sister-in-love, Joyce Johnson, special nephew Darryl Johnson, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
