Pastor Erskin Donald Blankenship Jr.

July 8, 1947 – February 4, 2026

Pastor Erskin Donald Blankenship Jr., a devoted servant of God and the community, entered eternal rest on February 4, 2026. Born in Pensacola, Florida, he was the eldest of nine children and was raised with a strong foundation rooted in faith, family, and service.

A graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Pastor Blankenship honorably served three years in the United States Army, including service in Germany. After experiencing a life-altering electrical accident, he pursued higher education and earned an Associate of Arts degree from Pensacola Junior College, demonstrating resilience and determination.

In 1979, he answered the call to ministry and faithfully served as pastor of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church for more than four decades. His pastoral leadership was defined by steadfast faith, integrity, and a deep commitment to spiritual growth and community development.

Pastor Blankenship was a devoted husband to Terry Ann Blankenship, a loving father of seven children, and a cherished grandfather. In addition to his pastoral duties, he was a civil rights activist, community mentor, accomplished musician, and an unwavering champion for justice.

He will be remembered for his enduring legacy of faith, service, and compassion, and his impact will continue to be felt by all who were blessed to know him.
