In Loving Memory of Hans Josef Anderson
November 8, 1981 - May 13, 2025
With broken hearts and deep gratitude for the life he lived, we announce the passing of Hans Josef Anderson, who died on May 13, 2025, at the age of 43, after facing a brain tumor with extraordinary grace and courage.
Hans was a kind and gentle soul whose warmth could be felt in his legendary hugs and heard in his unforgettable, contagious laugh. To be in his presence was to be lifted - you simply couldn't help but laugh along with him. He carried his mother's quick wit and humor, and his father's love for building, creating, and working with his hands. Hans brought together the best of both worlds, and shared that joy generously with everyone lucky enough to know him.
Even in the face of a diagnosis he knew he would not overcome, Hans lived with remarkable optimism. He remained fully present, choosing hope, connection, and love over despair. He became a quiet teacher to all who walked alongside him, embodying what matters most in this life: to cherish one another, to let go of what weighs us down, and to hold fast to what lifts us up.
Family and friendship were everything to Hans. He is survived by the love of his life, Bridget, and their beloved twins, Louie and Olivia - the light of his world. He is also survived by his devoted parents, Phil and Brenda Anderson; his brother Ben (Karen, Ray, Arlen); his sister Brittany Carr (Michael, Stewart, Ellie, Liam); and his best forever friend, Curtis Kolkman. He leaves behind countless loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who adored him and will continue to carry his memory forward in the ways they live and love.
Hans was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Alice Anderson and Tom and Winnie Stanek; and by dear cousins, Shawn Peterson and Leah Anderson.
Though his life was far too short, Hans's impact was immeasurable. His spirit lives on in every life he touched, every project he built, every joke he told, and every heart he lifted
We will miss him always. We will love him forever.
