Hans Joachim Taenzer

Hans Joachim Taenzer of Roseland, NJ, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025.
A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Hans was born on August 30, 1932, in Aachen, Germany, to Erich and Margarete Taenzer. Together with his wife of 67 years, Irmgard, he built a beautiful life filled with love and dedication while raising their three children in Roseland.
Hans was Vice President of Engineering for American Products Company Inc. in Union, NJ, where he designed and manufactured many sophisticated military and industrial systems. He also worked with Dr. Jarvik as lead engineer in the design and construction of the first Jarvik artificial heart.
After retiring in 1999, Hans cherished time with his wife, three children, nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed oil painting and building model train sets.
In addition to his parents, Hans was predeceased by his beloved wife, Irmgard; his sister, Inge Thyssen; and his brother, Rolf Taenzer. He is survived by his children, Hans Juergen Taenzer and his companion Tina; his daughter, Monika Harned; and his son, Michael Taenzer, and his wife, Jessica. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kurt and Jessica, Jennifer, Christopher, Jonathan, Nicholas, Michael, Kristin, and Matthew, as well as his great-grandchildren Lee, Lin, and Rae, and Hudson and Leo Francis.
