Harold "Red" F. Allen, 83, of Reading, passed away on July 25, 2025, in the care of Reading Hospital. He was the widower of Rosalia M. Allen, who passed away on February 17, 2009.

Born in Reading to the late Roger and Corrine Allen, Red graduated from Reading High School. He retired after 35 years from DANA Corp. where he worked in the frame shop.

Red was a dedicated parishioner of Nativity BVM Ukrainian Catholic Church. He could always be found volunteering at the Nut Roll stand at the church bazaar.

He loved going to festivals, and he enjoyed gardening, planting both vegetables and flowers which he would make into baskets for his home at "the Bungalow." Red was a life member of the Uks, a member of Slovak Catholic Sokols, the Lincoln Park Fire Company, and Victor Emmanuel's.

Left to treasure his memory is his son, Michael Allen, husband of Robin, of Denver; grandchildren Amber Allen and Jason Diem, husband of Keri; and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his companion, Louise, and his dog, Ginger, who will miss him greatly.

In addition to his wife, Rosalia, and his parents, he was predeceased by his three brothers and sister.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading PA 19611, with burial to follow at Nativity BVM Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to an animal shelter of choice. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
