Harold Auch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farmer & Dee Funeral Home on Apr. 13, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Harold I. Auch
Korean War Army Veteran
Harold I. Auch, age 89, of Hampton, NH, formerly of Charlestown and Tewksbury, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the cherished husband of the late Beverly A. (Gross) Auch.
Born in Boston on November 28, 1935, Harold was the son of the late Joseph Auch and Mary Edna Zlock (Campbell) and Francis Zlock. Raised in Charlestown, he attended local schools and developed a strong sense of community, family, and service that would define his life.
In 1954, Harold proudly upheld the proud tradition of military service that ran deep in his family by enlisting in the U.S. Army, answering the call of duty during the Korean War. With unwavering dedication and remarkable bravery, he embodied the spirit of a true American hero. His exemplary service earned him numerous accolades, including the esteemed Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal, reflecting his commitment to defending the freedoms we hold dear. Harold's legacy continues to inspire future generations to honor our nation's values, and the sacrifices made for our liberty.
After returning from military service, Harold built a long successful career as a warehouse foreman, proudly representing Teamsters Local 25 until his retirement. His work ethic and commitment were an inspiration to colleagues and family alike.
Harold was an active member of his community, participating in the Tewksbury V.F.W. Post 8164, the Tewksbury Elks Post #2070, and the Tewksbury Knights of Columbus Council #4336. His spirit of camaraderie and service left a life lasting impression on those he encountered.
Harold is survived by his loving children: Pamela J. Auch and her partner Deborah Johnson of Hampton, NH; Paul D. Auch and his wife Haihua Chen of Arizona; Cynthia A. Stoneroad of Lowell; Gerald M. "GT" Auch of Oregon; and the late Harold R. Auch and Daniel F. Auch. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Ryan Stoneroad, Brandyn and Kristen Auch, Joshua and Kelci Auch, and Harry and Danny Auch. Additionally, he was blessed with six great-grandchildren: Linda and Mia Stoneroad, Asher Thompson, Joseph, Karolyne, and Addison Auch, with a seventh great-grandchild, Helena Auch, expected to arrive soon.
Harold was predeceased by his nine siblings: Joseph Auch and his late wife Babsy, Bernard Auch and his late wife Joan, Lawrence Auch and his late wife Monica, Theresa Olichia and her late husband Paul, Bernadine D'Angelo and her late husband Vinnie, Jeanette (Auch) Guzman and her surviving husband Joe Guzman, Edna Hanscom and her late husband Al, Ruth Corros and her late husband Eddie, and Dorothy Pennucci. He leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will carry on his legacy.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects during calling hours on Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. A graveside service with military honors will follow at the Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East Street, Tewksbury.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Harold's memory to Clear Path for Veterans New England, 84 Antietam Drive, Devens, MA 01434, or online at www.clearpathne.org, to honor his commitment to service and support for fellow veterans.
