Harold L. Barlow

Harold L. Barlow, 92, passed away February 26, 2026. The service will be 10:30am Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Stringer Family Chapel with burial at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 9am-10:30am on Tuesday.

Harold was married to Frances Laprade Barlow for 70 years until her death. He was a father, grandfather, great grandfather and a great great grandfather. He retired from H & R Block in 1991 and he and Frances began traveling the United States by car as Frances kept a journal of all the places they enjoyed with her special humor noted along the way.

He served his Lord and Savior at Antioch Baptist Church as deacon and treasurer as well as being a member of the Hazlehurst Lions Club for 30+ years.

Anyone who knew Harold was a target of his quick humor and especially his love of people. He spent most of his days sitting on his front porch watching folks go by always blowing their horn and waving. The joy of his life however was his family. He loved spending time with them as well as talking on the phone to keep up with all that was going on in their lives. He will be deeply missed by his family, church, friends and community.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Barlow; son, Mike Barlow; daughter-in-law, Debbie Barlow; 6 brothers; and great grandchildren, Maggie Barlow and Gracey Geiser.

He is survived by his daughter, Rita Barlow Robbins; son, Glen Barlow (Rita); daughter-in-law, Deborah Barlow; grandchildren, Frankie Sawyers, Craig Sawyers, Christopher Barlow (Amy); Wesley Barlow (Maria), Allen Barlow (Sarah), Scott Barlow (Tonya) and Jennifer Geiser (Jason); 15 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Memorials may be made to St Jude's Children Research Hospital, Antioch Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice.
