Harold Beaver Obituary

Harold Steven Beaver, better known as Steven, passed away peacefully in his home on November 12, 2025, in Waxahachie, Texas. He was born in Peewee Valley, Kentucky, on August 28, 1954, to Ralph Beaver Sr. and Edith Kaylor.

Steven was a creative, curious, and deeply loving man whose presence made every room a little lighter and every day a little brighter. He had a gift for building things with his hands, dreaming up new ideas, and finding joy in the simple rhythms of life. Whether he was tinkering on cars, building a computer from scratch (we didn't step on Legos-we stepped on pointy computer parts, just as painful!), cooking breakfast for the people he loved, or planning an unforgettable road trip, he did everything with intention, humor, and heart.

By the time his daughters were 10 and 12, they had traveled the East Coast and experienced unforgettable sights. Steven even hooked up the Nintendo player in the back of the Honda, so his girls got to play video games while they traveled-pretty cool while driving to the Grand Canyon. He lived in China for five years where he taught English, and during that time became a merchandise catalog director.

Steven was always keenly interested in what others were doing. He was philosophical, thoughtful, and loved deep conversations. He was generous with his time and energy, sincere, and always seeking to understand the world around him.

He cherished time with his family-especially the moments spent at the beach, laughing through long drives, sharing music he composed, or whipping up something delicious in the kitchen. His big personality, quick wit, and generous spirit made him unforgettable. He taught us how to think deeply, love fiercely, and not take life too seriously.

We will miss his voice, his creativity, and his quiet wisdom. But more than anything, we will miss the way he loved us. His legacy lives on in every story he told, every laugh he sparked, and every life he touched. We know he is writing tunes in heaven, because that was his favorite thing to do on earth.

Steven is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Franklin Beaver Sr.; his mother, Edith Louise Kaylor; his sister, Cheryl Stuppy; and his son, Wilber Beaver.

He is survived by his wife, Maliya Ma; his daughters, Christy Olinger and husband Jason, and Stacy Beaver; his stepdaughter, Xiao Lu liu; his brother, Franklin Beaver and wife Elizabeth; his grandchildren, Grace Olinger, Levi Olinger, Kenzie Petty, and Drake Petty, Payden Pollock; his great-granddaughter, Malyza Marie and first wife Sylvia Beaver.

A Funeral Service will be held at Waxahachie Funeral Home on Friday, November 21, at 2pm.
